About the Author
George Jones is a former professional American football running back in the National Football League. Jones made his NFL debut during the 1997 season with Pittsburgh, serving as a halfback for most of it. He broke records set by Marshall Faulk and went on to have an outstanding football career at San Diego State before entering Pittsburgh Steelers. He moved on to Jacksonville Jaguars after he was released by the Steelers before finishing up with Cleveland Browns in 1999.
George’s early years were all about football. His days were filled with training, cross-country tours, games, and sports events, and thought that that was going to be his whole life. Though football brought him a massive level of happiness and satisfaction, he constantly felt a need for more. He longed for a love he can call his own.
His quest to find unconditional love was met with a lot of challenges but his wife, Kate, has been by his side through the ups and downs. After the birth of his firstborn son, George realized his calling was to be a father.
Since his retirement from NFL in 1999, Jones devoted his time his life to being a full-time father and advocate through The Present Dad Foundation.
