Dr Gordon Jones, Co-founder and CEO of Validide and Author of International Best Seller “How to Createyourself” graces our show again today to talk about his book and what inspired him to write it.
Dr. Jones is a man of many hats. He is a healthcare executive, business developer, investor, mentor, author, coach, curator, educator, son, hugger, father, brother, athlete, coach – he’s done everything very much like Michelangelo. A graduate of the Citadel, he did two tours with the second airborne. He’s got his master’s and doctorate to health administration from the Medical University of South Carolina and has spent 30 years in digital health, innovation, entrepreneurship, business development.

- So one of the big things that we do as we’re developing ourselves, is, we don’t know what it is we’re doing, but we verbalize that with our friends. Or we might do an activity and we’re subconsciously looking at how our friends respond to that. And all of this starts to help develop who we are and what our identity is. So if we take that just whole idea of how we learn and develop our identity as a kid, and adulthood, we understand the mental behaviors that we regenerate off of different cues that we get from our environment. One of the things that we have to do is make sure that we have an environment that has been conducive to pursuing that of which we want to create. (8:20)
- So I’ve let my mind generate the idea of a goal. And when you’re doing that, you just have to make sure you do it well enough that it makes you proud. And that becomes a part of your creative self journey. (10:00)
